I am seriously addicted to anything dip related to go with my meal or snack. Just call me the dip queen….my husband does. Now he realizes where our daughter gets it from.
When I was a kid, I’d eat honey mustard with absolutely everything. Pretzels, meats, chips, mashed potatoes, pasta, and don’t even get me started with veggies like broccoli, it’s the only way I would get those greens in is with the yummy dipping sauce. Weirdo, I know.
But hey, don’t knock those weird combinations until you try them, right?
As I got older, my taste buds definitely changed and so did my body. I can’t consume the amount of sugar and fats like I used to and think I can get away with it like I did as a kid. HAHA. We can all wish though, right?
Last summer, my husband and I grabbed a bite to eat at this adorable little cafe passing through a town while we were away for a very rare weekend getaway just the two of us.
I ordered a delicious fresh garden salad with my go-to dressing of course, honey mustard.
I don’t know about you, but there is nothing like a fresh salad in the summertime while sitting outside enjoying the sunshine. It’s purely bliss for me.
But when I tasted this dressing, my mouth felt like it tasted some of heaven. It had a creamy texture and was SO delicious, I knew I had to ask how it was made.
I had the pleasure of speaking with one of the cafe owners who told me this was a recipe in her family and it was yogurt based.
Once we got home, I was determined to make a version of my own to relive this deliciousness every time I want my beloved honey mustard dressing.
