Do you ever crave burgers all the time, but try to resist because they are deemed as “unhealthy?” I don’t know about you, but I could eat burgers almost every single day.

Tasty bunless burger bites made with ground turkey!

There is so many different ways to make burgers, toppings to add, variations to try, your never gonna get bored.

These days in pregnancy number 3, I am hitting all kinds of cravings. One of my cravings was burgers.

I didn’t care what time it is, Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Baby wanted burgers, well what baby wants, baby gets. You mama’s know how that is.

That’s when I decided I had to get crafty, because I can’t exactly whip up a burger at 10am in the morning during the week running around like a nut, or at 9pm at night when you don’t feel moving a muscle.

These delicious low carb cheeseburger bites are so easy to make together, and they are PERFECT for a great meal prep snack.

I make up a bunch of these, gobble down a few because why not? We all need comfort food in our life. Then freeze the rest of them to have at my disposal when I’m craving one.

These mini burger bites also make the perfect party food for game day, or just a great appetizer in general.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve doubled this recipe and had these little burger bites out when we have company over, and are always the first delicious appetizer to disappear.

Today, I made these with ketchup, mustard, pickles, peppers, and onions. But seriously, you can put whatever you want in here.

Feeling spicy? Jalapenos would be delightful in these.

Want to add some bacon? Go for it, bacon is a favorite with burgers.

Why you’ll love this recipe for these healthy burger bites:

  • Only 115 calories per burger patty, but each one has over 12 grams of protein
  • Low carb recipe
  • Easy appetizer option, these make great finger foods
  • Macro friendly, and perfect for those busy days where you need a grab-n-go snack, and why not a burger?

These healthy burger bites are so easy for meal prepping, or they make a great appetizer!

Ingredients you’ll need for bunless cheeseburger bites:

Now, I did mention I used peppers, onions, and pickles in today’s variations for these bunless burgers.

I will keep those ingredients at the end so you know you can switch those out for others if your not a fan. I’ll talk more about the different variations in a lil bit 🙂

  • Sugar Free Ketchup
  • Mustard
  • Ground Turkey
  • Bread crumbs
  • Egg whites
  • Cheese (your choice)
  • Onions
  • Peppers
  • Pickles

Recipe Tips & Notes for healthy burger bites:

Why are these mini burgers healthier?

These burger bites are healthier, because I’ve opted to make them with ground turkey versus traditional beef. Now, if you want beef, go for it.

I like using ground turkey when I can for 2 main reasons. Its much lower in fat, and it’s cheaper. Because lets face it, things are expensive these days and I’m a mama on a budget.

Side note….I think people forget about all the ways you can be crafty with snacks. I don’t know about you, but I get tired of the same “healthy” snacks.

Some days, I’m just not feeling veggies. This is when these delicious little burger cups come into play.

I can't help but gobble down a few of these burger cups coming right out of the oven!

Sauce Variations:

You will most definitely need sauce to keep everything together which is why we are using your traditional sauce for burgers, ketchup and mustard.

If you’re not a mustard fan, swap it out for some mayo. Or if you are a mustard fan, feel free to use brown mustard or any mustard that suits your fancy.

Other sauce variations you can try:

  • Siracha
  • BBQ
  • Ranch
  • Chipotle

Really, you can use anything, just keep in mind with whatever you decide to do an even swap and it will change the calorie intake so you will have to adjust accordingly if you are tracking your calories or macros.

Other Variations to try for your healthy bunless burger bites:

Bread Crumbs:

You don’t necessarily have to use bread crumbs for these. One little hack I’ve done is use pop chips. I’m not sure if your familiar with those chips, but they are SO GOOD, especially when you need to get your chip fix on.

In recipes that I need to use bread crumbs for, sometimes I will crush up a small bag of pop chips and use those instead. Plus, they are nice to have on hand for a macro friendly snack option. 🙂

Pop Chips, one of my favorite healthy chip brands and a great substitute I like to use when a recipe calls for breadcrumbs.

Cheese:

I use fat free shredded cheese for the macros, however you can use what you prefer. Feel free to use any kind of cheese such as cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese, American cheese.

Ways to eat these tasty ground turkey mini burgers:

I love eating these as is. BUT, as I’ve said before, and especially with this pregnancy, ya girl loves to eat.

If you are needing to add more to this for a more filling option, try these little hacks.

  • Wrap; throw some lettuce and tomato on a tortilla and slice this burger bite into strips.
  • Sliders; if your having a party, throw these onto some slider buns with your favorite add ons
  • Burger Bobs; make these into a fun kabob style treat! Serve with lettuce, tomato, peppers, whatever your heart desires and serve as mini burger skewers!
  • Lettuce wraps; get those veggies in by sliding these yummy burger bites in a lettuce leaf and add your favorite condiments and enjoy!

There are so many other ways to be creative with these, let me know below in the comments how you like to eat these.

How to make these easy & healthy burger bites:

Step 1:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees and spray your muffin tin with cooking spray. I am using a standard size muffin tin for my burger bites today (holds 12).

Here are some great muffin tins to have on hand, they are great to use for meal prepping! I have them linked right here.

Step 2:

In a skillet on pan, add in your ground turkey and start cooking.

Step 3:

While the ground turkey is cooking, add all of the other ingredients in the recipe into a mixing bowl

Step 4:

Once the ground turkey has cooked all the way, drain any excess fat. Let the ground turkey cool before adding into the burger mixture.

Step 5:

Once the ground turkey has cooled, add into the burger mixture and mix well until everything is combined.

Combine the ground turkey and all other ingredients together to make the meat mixture for these mini burger bites.

Step 6:

Add the meat mixture into the muffin tins.

Step 7:

Cook for 20-25 minutes, until tops are golden and crispy looking.

Step 8:

Let cool, and enjoy!!!

These healthy burger bites are so addicting, and a perfect grab and go snack.

How to store and reheat your yummy burger bites:

You can store these in the refrigerator, but they will need to be consumed within 3 days.

For freezing:

Once they have cooled all the way. I put these in individual freezer safe bags, or wrap them in aluminum foil and place in the freezer. These will stay good in the freezer for up to 3 months.

To reheat:

For the desired crispiness, I recommend using a conventional oven, toaster oven, or air fryer to reheat.
