Topped with green onions and crispy bacon, this healthy casserole is full of flavor and will leave you guilt free.

Simple ingredients You’ll Need:

  • Cooked Chicken; Shredded
  • Plain Nonfat Greek Yogurt
  • Cream of Chicken Soup
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • Dried Dill
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder
  • Ranch Seasoning
  • Tater Tots; You do not need to thaw before adding into the recipe
  • Bacon
  • Green Onions for Garnishing

Steps to Make Cheesy Chicken Tater Tot Casserole

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2

Grab a large mixing bowl and add in the plain greek yogurt, cream of chicken soup, shredded cheese, ranch seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, and dried dill. Mix together until well combined. 

Step 3

Add in your cooked shredded chicken into the large bowl and fold into the mixture. 

Step 4

Lastly, add in your frozen tater tots and gently fold into the mixture. 

Be sure to mix everything together well to make the best tater tot casserole with chicken.

Step 5

Spray a 9×13 casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray. Add the tater tot mixture into the casserole dish. Add additional tater tots to the top if you’d like! 

Step 6

Bake uncovered for 50 minutes. If you have tater tots on the top, make sure they are nice and golden brown. Remove the baking dish from oven when finished cooking. 

Step 7

Add your chopped bacon and green onions for toppings for a delicious crispy topping, and ENJOY your easy chicken tater tot casserole!!

To keep things simple, especially if your short on time, you can most definitely use some rotisserie chicken, or even leftover chicken you have. 

You can also use other protein options as well such as ground beef or ground turkey. It will give it a different flavor, but still equally delicious! Just be sure to cook everything before adding into the recipe.

Bacon Tips

I am using regular bacon in my recipe, but to save time grab some precooked bacon. For a healthier option, grab some turkey bacon.

Be sure to cook the bacon while the casserole is cooking!! 

Freezing Method 

To save even more time, you can make this tater tot chicken casserole ahead, freeze and bake it later!! 

To bake after freezing, let the casserole thaw completely and then bake as directed in recipe.

How To Store Tater Tot Casserole With Chicken:

If you have leftovers, make sure to store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. You can reheat in the microwave when ready. Leftovers of this recipe is soooooo good and still just as delicious the next day! 

You can also freeze any leftovers and store for up to 3 months. To reheat after freezing, let it thaw completely. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes until heated through.
