I’m sure y’all have seen the viral tiktok recipe for Queso, or at least heard of it. Well, I had to give it a try. Cottage cheese has literally taken social media and the internet by a storm, and when I say storm, I mean hurricane.

My go-to healthy swap has always been some good ol’ plain greek yogurt, but these days…..cottage cheese recipes is getting up there. 

I gave it a spin and adjusted measurements for what I felt was healthy and macro friendly, and y’all, this creamy cottage cheese queso dip is friggin’ TASTY. Definitely a game changer. Super cheesy and delicious.

I don’t like sacrificing taste at all. If I’m doing this healthy lifestyle long term, you have to make it sustainable. No one wants to choke down food that’s deemed healthy, because we all know its not sustainable.

It’s about finding those balances, and healthy swaps to enjoy all, and I mean ALL the things we love with food. 

The best part? This healthy cottage cheese dip has such a protein boost while still giving you the cheesy flavor you want just like traditional queso, only a much healthier option.

This recipe makes two servings, but lets be honest here people. If you want to eat it all in one sitting, no one is stopping you.

And you don’t have to feel guilty one bit. In fact, your literally just packing in the protein because this queso dip is jammed packed with the good stuff.

Simple ingredients You’ll Need:

  • Low-Fat Cottage Cheese; Regular cottage cheese works too, just adjust those macros! 
  • Shredded Cheese; I use fat free shredded cheese in this recipe
  • Taco Seasoning
  • Optional: Pico de Gallo, salsa, jalapeños, or cilantro
Grab your favorite chips, fresh veggies, or even some toasted bread and dip into your easy cottage cheese queso dip.

Steps To Make This High Protein Cottage Cheese Queso Dip:

Step 1

Measure out 1 cup of cottage cheese and place in a food processor or blender. Blend cottage cheese until all lumps are blended and cottage cheese is a creamy texture and you have reached your desired consistency. 

Step 2

Grab a microwave-safe bowl and dump in the blended cottage cheese, shredded cheese, and taco seasoning. Stir until blended together. 

Step 3

Cover the bowl and microwave for 1 minute. Remove from the microwave and stir, and then microwave for an additional 30 seconds. Remove the queso stir.

Repeat as necessary until the queso is smooth. It should take roughly two minutes. 

Step 4

This is optional, garnish with Pico de Gallo, salsa, jalapeños, or cilantro. Grab some fresh veggies or your tortilla chips and enjoy as one of your new favorite dips! Enjoy!!
