Classic meatloaf recipe using beef was a staple in my family for dinner growing up. There’s nothing like homemade traditional meatloaf with some creamy mashed potatoes.
That’s when I decided to try it with ground turkey, because well, why not? Once I did, I never looked back.
Ground turkey is a healthy alternative that’s just as juicy, leaner and lower in fat. I always add some veggies in there, where I can score some major wins in the mama department in sneaking in those hidden veggies.
Plus, we are going to make this good meatloaf recipe with a delicious glaze that makes every single bite friggin delicious.

How to make the best tasting turkey meatloaf with sauce
Ingredients you’ll need for ground turkey meatloaf:
- 1lb Lean Ground Turkey
- 1/2 Bell Pepper; Diced
- 1/2 Onion; Diced
- 1 Large Egg
- Panko Bread Crumbs
- Shredded Cheese (I used fat free in this recipe)
- Sugar Free Ketchup
- Dry Mustard
- Salt and Black Pepper to Taste
To make the delicious sauce you will need:
- Sugar Free Ketchup
- Brown Sugar
Steps to make your yummy homemade meatloaf for a delicious dinner:
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
Step 2
Grab a large mixing bowl, and mix all of the meatloaf ingredients together well. Be sure to not overmix the turkey mixture.
Step 3
Grab a baking sheet or a loaf pan and use aluminum foil or parchment paper and line the baking sheet. Form the meatloaf mixture into a loaf shape on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 4
Bake in the oven for 50 minutes.
Step 5
When the meatloaf is almost done, combine the brown sugar and sugar free ketchup together in a small mixing bowl to make the sauce for the meatloaf topping.
Step 6
Remove the meatloaf from the oven after the 50 minutes, and spread the sauce evenly onto the top of the meatloaf and place back in the oven.
Continue to cook for an additional 10 minutes or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees when using a meat thermometer.
Step 7
Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes (resting is super important in this recipe), and ENJOY!!

If your like me, and love some spiciness in your life, add some diced jalapenos and use a little siracha sauce in with the ketchup.
Just make sure the overall amount is still the same so you don’t have your meatloaf too wet.

This is such a easy recipe for meat loaf, you can prep everything and create your meatloaf mixture up to two days in advance. Just be sure to wrap it tightly in the refrigerator.
This is a great way to save some additional time if your making this on a busy night.
You can also prep this healthy dinner and freeze. It freezes beautifully for up to 3 months, just be sure to wrap tightly in a freezer safe container or some plastic wrap.
When your ready to cook, simply dethaw in the refrigerator overnight, then bake as directed.
