Throw this bad boy together in less than 5 minutes and you have yourself a breakfast that’s super healthy and freaking tasty. Best part? Only 4 ingredients. Yup, you read that right.

We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so this Greek yogurt parfait recipe is a great way to throw together something quick or grab out of the fridge on those busy mornings.

I love a good simple recipe. Especially when I’m running around like a crazy person in the mornings, these tend to be a lifesaver for me.

Do you ever just need to have dessert for breakfast? Well no one needs dessert, but this mama loves to switch it up from time to time to take care of the sweet tooth.

These protein yogurt parfaits is the perfect breakfast you didn’t know you needed until now. When I entered the healthy lifestyle, I was determined to find other alternatives to breakfast that were quick to throw together other than eggs that I can eat on the go.

Delicious and easy meal prepping option, healthy strawberry yogurt parfaits.

I love eggs, don’t get me wrong, but you can only eat them so much without going on strike if you know what I mean.

Remember that magic stuff I always talk about in my other recipes, ya know, Greek yogurt? Yeah, well no surprise here, we are using that today.

My favorite to use is oikos triple zero Greek yogurt. The flavors….SO GOOD. Not to mention 15 grams of protein per serving and ZERO added sugars. Yes, you heard right. I said ZERO.

The problem with yogurt these days is when you think your eating “healthy” and grabbing a yogurt, well have you ever read the nutrition label and saw how jammed packed it is with sugar?

Be careful of that stuff, but oikos? Simply the best.

Why you’ll love this high protein healthy yogurt parfaits recipe:

  • Great for meal prep, and quick to assemble
  • A true grab-n-go breakfast!!
  • Only 4 ingredients
  • Extremely customizable to your preferences and macro goals
  • These are also great as a dessert or snack, easy treat option!

Fresh fruit is always recommended for these delicious high protein parfaits.

Ingredients you’ll need to make a healthy yogurt parfait with fruit:

Now you can use any kind of fruit for these delectable treats, ahem, I mean breakfast.

I love them with fresh berries, bananas, blueberries, even apples. Whatever fruit you have on hand will work, there are so many different fruits to try that rotate throughout the seasons to enjoy this all year.

I’ve been on a strawberry kick lately, probably all those pregnancy cravings, so that’s what we’re making today. Healthy yogurt parfait with fresh strawberries, YUM.

  • Greek yogurt

Step 1

Starting with a mason jar or a cup, put yogurt at the bottom

Step 2

Next, add your fruit on top of the yogurt

Easy Peasey!

My recipe notes for these healthy homemade parfaits with fresh fruit:

Yogurt Tips:

I typically use a single serve yogurt as my serving size, but to save time and money, I have also bought in bulk as well, this recipe calls for 1 cup yogurt if measuring out of a bulk container.

For flavors, my go to is vanilla Greek yogurt, but you can use any flavored yogurt or even plain Greek yogurt.

Oikos triple zero Greek yogurt is my recommendation for this recipe.

For protein and macro purposes, I will always 10000% recommend oikos triple zero, its delicious and a great creamy Greek yogurt.

However, you can ABSOLUTELY use any type of yogurt for this recipe, it can be regular yogurt, Greek yogurt, whatever makes your heart smile.

Granola and Crunch Topping Options:

I recommend adding the granola right before your ready to eat your parfait to avoid having soggy granola. I prefer that nice crunchy granola factor.

My go to brand is kind because its low sugar and in my opinion the best granola, but you really can use any brand.

Just keep in mind that there are a lot of foods labeled as “healthy” when they really aren’t. Just make sure to read that nutrition label, specifically at the sugar content and look for the amount of sugar and any added sugar! They love to sneak them in.

You can also use nuts or oats in place of granola. Sometimes I like to switch it up some, or if I need to move around my macros, this is a great place to make those tiny adjustments. You can even make some homemade granola!

Frozen or Fresh Fruit?

I recommend fresh fruit since frozen fruit tends to release water as it dethaws and can make your parfait a little runny. Any in season fruit will work!!

Don't forget to drizzle honey over the fresh fruit before adding your granola to these healthy fruit and yogurt parfaits!

Other toppings and variations to try on these yogurt parfaits:

If you want to get creative, you most definitely can. Try using maple syrup in place of honey or even peanut butter or fruit sauce.

Sprinkle a few chocolate chips on the top. Add in some chia seeds or flax seeds.

There really is no wrong way to go with these, and that’s what I love about fruit and yogurt parfaits.

They are extremely customizable and so stinkin’ easy.

Top off with your favorite granola, mine is the brand called Kind.

Here’s how to store these protein loaded healthy yogurt parfaits:

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Any container will work, but I love these mason jar meal prep containers right here.

These breakfast parfaits are great option to meal prep. Throw everything together and store in the fridge. Add the granola right before your ready to eat to avoid getting soggy, and enjoy!

With the fresh fruit, they will typically keep all week. If you cut your fruit, I would recommend consuming within 3-4 days.
